I thought I had something really important that I wanted to write down but I can no longer remember what that might have been. I blame the beer…and maybe the hydrocodone. And on that note, my back is finally down to a dull ache. I wish I had the will power to make a really awesome DIY blog…….too bad I’m too lazy to even finish a project. It would be a blog of half baked ideas and half assed projects. Who wouldn’t want to follow that?

This year is off to a pretty good start. I like my classes and my professors so far. I only have class two days a week, and only one class on each day so it is easy to stay focused and not pass out in the back of the room. I’ve been making an effort to do more recently. I feel that too often I sit back and let my life pass me by and I’m sick of it. I went to two shows towards the end of last year and I’ve realized I really love to going to shows and I  should do it more often. Yesterday I went to see a Bob Marley tribute band with Chris, Solana and Sev and it was so much fun! I actually work with the lead singer which is how I found out that they perform every Monday night at this small ball in Somerville. I hope to go back again soon before the end of February when my pediatric clinical will start up and I’ll have to wake up at the ass crack of dawn every Tuesday morning to be at Children’s Hospital by 7 am. Chris, Solana, and I will be going to see The Devil Makes Three on February 21st when they open for Flogging Molly at the House of Blues. I’m really excited to finally see them but I wish it were at a smaller venue. I’d much rather be at some dinky bar but I’ve missed my chance to see them twice now and I’ll be damned if I miss them again! On the 15th of February I’ll be seeing the Skatalites with Solana, Sev, and Chris at TT the Bears. I havent listened to them before so thats on my To-Do list before the show. I guess they were the first Ska band, inventors of the genre and I think Bob Marley got his start with them if I’m remembering correctly. Either way it should be fun! Last Saturday I saw the Pompeii exhibit at the Museum of Science with Chris. It was pretty cool, there were a lot of recovered artifacts as well as casts made from the cavities that the bodies left in all the volcanic debris when they were buried alive. It was a little chilling actually. You could see how people were trying to cover their faces, or their loved one’s face, with their sleeves and clothing as they suffocated from the poisonous volcanic gas and ash. In my effort to do more with my life, I’ve also decided to start crafting more. I have numerous knitting projects in dire need of completion and I want to get back to making jewelry. I found a cool DIY blog (Honestlywtf.com) and I made on of their bracelets the other night. I need to get some more material before I can try some of the other projects but I’m really looking forward to making some new bracelets. I should probably get back to studying now…today has been a decidedly unproductive day.
